Best in Show!

My cousin won Best in Show! Way to go Armas!

MODA botanica, a floral design company in which he is a founding partner, just won Best in Show at the Philadelphia International Flower Show.

Which is all the better, because they got some dubious press based on the unfinished installation at the show.

And to be fair.. the early shots are kinda…well, un-flower-show-like. But the finished product is breathtaking.

Congratulations Armas and partners!

Councillor blogging

I’ve been working on developing councillor guidance on using social media.

This means I’ve been following lots of councillors on Twitter and looking at lots of councillor blogs.

The best councillor blogs are REALLY dull – unless you happen to live in their area. The blogs should be personal news reflections on their wards. Which means that I couldn’t be stuffed to read what they write. Usually. Unless I happen to live there – see http://jamescousins.com which I find really useful as a resident.

This morning I found Councillor Sara Bedford’s blog http://sarabedford.org.uk/ and it’s really good. It’s not really a “good” councillor blog though – at least not judging from the most recent posts.

But it is a good blog. I like it. I’ve been lazy in updating my blog links since I moved sites. I’ve got old, long-standing blogging friends that I haven’t linked yet. But here I go, I’m going to add her first.

And…this weekend I’m going to update my blogroll.

Facebook | Proud Uncle

This is my brother’s Facebook profile pic, it was taken the last time he came to visit me. My brother is, as might be said on this side of the pond, a bit of a Jack the Lad. Or at least that the image he likes to cultivate. But I guess he’s fairly proud of his nephew. Underneath the picture is the caption that says “Thanks Maury! Turns out this kid isn’t mine either.”

Maury is an American talk show which specialises in DNA paternity testing. I take no offense because I wrote that myself.

On my brother’s Facebook page – someone wrote on his wall.

I NEVER THOUGHT I’D SEE THE DAY YOU HAD A BOY…OR DID YOU FIND HIM ON THE STREET OR SOMETHING?

Every time I see that it makes me laugh.
